One Mosque, A Thousand Changes

In the African continent, a mosque is not just a place of worship; it is a community center, a place of knowledge, and a symbol of unity among the people. However, for the majority of Muslim communities in rural Sub-Saharan Africa, the dream of having a proper mosque remains just a hope. The lack of basic infrastructure forces them to pray under trees, stand on dusty ground, and study the Quran in unconducive environments.

According to local studies:

• 75% of the population in rural Africa falls under the category of extreme poverty.
• The average income per family is only RM10 per day.
• The lack of religious infrastructure causes children to miss out on formal religious education.

Functions of the Insaniah Mosque:

• Center for daily prayers and Friday prayers
• Madrasah for tahfiz children
• Community gathering place for welfare issues and zakat management
• Study center for youth and adults (fardu ain classes, Quran recitation, etc.)

Insaniah’s Aspiration:

• Providing mosques that are strong, clean, and safe
• Nurturing a knowledgeable and virtuous generation
• Making the mosque a center for the local community

Project Data & Achievements:

• Insaf Insani has built mosques in: Benin, Chad, Mali, Nigeria
• Target by the end of 2025: 10 mosques completed in Sub-Saharan African countries
• Current Status of Mosque Construction:
  3 mosques have been completed in Benin, Chad & Mali
  1 mosque is currently under construction in Nigeria
• Number of congregants benefiting from each Insaniah mosque construction: 100 people
